Audio Description (AD) translates visual content from theater, media, and visual arts, into accessible content for blind and low-vision individuals. Describers employ creative, precise language to communicate visual details that would otherwise be unavailable or partially inaccessible for these audience members. As Sign Language and Closed Captions provide access for people with hearing loss, Audio Description is a comparable accessible tool for the blind and visually impaired.

• Audio Describer - The individual who writes and sometimes narrates the audio description script.
