TORONTO - In its second pickup of the Toronto International Film Festival, Miramax Films acquired worldwide rights to Christopher Scott Cherot's "Hav Plenty," which is being executive produced by music producer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds.

"Hav Plenty" marks the directorial debut of Cherot, who wrote the script, stars in the movie and edited it as well. It is a modern-day love story told through the voice of a man who wants a woman who has everything."Hav Plenty," a production of Wanderlust Pictures and Edmonds Entertainment, stars a host of newcomers beside Cherot: Chenoa Maxwell, Tammi Katherine Jones and Robinne Lee. Hill Harper, who has appeared in Spike Lee's "Get on the Bus," is also a cast member.

The film is being produced by Cherot and Robyn Green. Tracey Edmonds and Bridget Davis are executive producers with "Babyface" Edmonds, who is said to be contributing $500,000 toward putting together a high-profile film soundtrack and two accompanying music videos. Miramax will not own the soundtrack.

"This is a gem of a film that brings with it a host of new talent," said Miramax co-chairman Harvey Weinstein. "We look forward to working with the talented Cherot and hope this will be the first of many projects with him."

Miramax also acquired the rights to the Michael Moore documentary "The Big One" during the festival.
