A BRIGHT NEW ACTOR BURSTS ONTO THE SCENE
Talented, sexy, charismatic, and intelligent are four words that best describe Reginald James, who starred in the Miramax feature film "HAV PLENTY". James made his national feature film-acting debut as FELIX DARLING, Leigh Darling's devoted, hard-working husband.
James launched his acting career in the theatre as a New York stage actor and continues his theatrical performances while pursuing a career in film. He recently starred as "DJ" in "MEDAL OF HONOR RAG" at the Blue Heron Theatre in Manhattan which spawned the following praise:"The performances are pitch perfect...Reginald James gives a break-through performance as Dale Jackson. He has also starred as "LARRY" in "RUTHY" at the African Globe Theatre in Newark where he won an "African Globe Award" for best actor. About his performance, Peter Fillichia of The Star-Ledger said:
"Reginald James is the reason to see 'Ruthy'... James shows not just star potential, but also super-star potential.". Not your traditional actor, James is an "all around kind of guy". He has a versatile mix of hobbies and skills, in addition to his diverse acting abilities in film, theatre, and commercial work. James is an active member of BOOK P.A.L.S (an educational program formed by SAG and AFTRA where participating actors read stories for children in elementary school classrooms in participating cities), he is an ACE certified personal trainer and aerobic instructor, and has taught at John Casablanca's Modeling Center where he specialized in modeling, runway, and grooming.
Born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, as the only boy with two sisters, Reginald was a natural performer and was always center stage. Even as a child James was well rounded, doing everything from playing the piano, taking swimming lessons with mom to being a cub-scout and playing football. His perseverance and intelligence allowed him the opportunity to attend High School at NCSSM, The North Carolina School of Science and Math where he entered, and was regional winner of, the "NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION STUDENT INVOLVEMENT" competition. The Competition required the students to devise an experiment that would eventually be carried out in space on the space shuttle. Reginald graduated from the University of Michigan where he studied film. During his time in Ann Arbor, he began modeling and commercial acting to help pay his tuition but he soon realized that he wanted more, that he wanted to act. James moved to New York City in 1994 to follow his dream.
